Some Things Won't Change

His photographic memory forgot to take a picture of the things we’ve done. And of all those things we did the simplest was to be his friend. Something went wrong.

The closet’s full. Bottles drained. Enough drinks and he’s insane and he proceeds to cross the line. Attacking friends, attacking kids, attacking anyone who disagrees with him.

When he awakens the next day seeking apologies in shame we’ll hear him say, I’m gonna turn my life around. I’m gonna put the bottle down. I’ll start today

The closet’s full. Bottles drained. Enough drinks and he’s insane and he proceeds to cross the line. Attacking friends, attacking kids, attacking anyone who disagrees with him.

And in a week or maybe two he is right back on that stool to forget that he’s alive. Then once again he will forget his friends. What will he do? Now that they’re through.

The closet’s full. Bottles drained. Enough drinks and he’s insane and he proceeds to cross the line. Attacking friends, attacking kids, attacking anyone who disagrees with him.
